Normalized MeC mean intensity in untreated and drug-treated cells. Decline of signal intensity is plotted as a function of drug concentration. Standard deviation of I MeC for untreated cells and cells treated with lower drug concentration is significantly greater than for cells treated with higher drug concentration. Comparative reduction in overall DNA methylation (as percentage drop compared to untreated controls) can be inferred for both drugs in DU145 cells, although at concentrations of one to two magnitudes lower for AZA than for ZEB. Huh-7 cells show comparatively less loss of I MeC at highest zebularine concentration (1000 μM).
