Permeability versus octanol partition for acidic solutes. Plot of the log of the permeability (cm/sec) versus the log of the octanol/water partition (log D) for the acidic solutes in Additional file 1: Table 2. The log D was determined at pH = 7.4 (Figure 12 A), 6.4 (Figure 12 B) and 5.4 (Figure 12 C). The solid line is the linear regression fit to the black points and the dashed line is the linear regression fit to the neutral solutes (Figure 10).
