Schematic representation of the experimental design. Rats underwent 5/6 nephrectomy 7 days after the feeding with a low-sodium diet (0.01% NaCl) began. In the CsA treatment group (15 mg/kg), CsA administration began on the day of surgery and continued daily for 28 days. If the rats were cotreated with DHMEQ (8 mg/kg), DHMEQ administration began on the same day and continued daily for 28 days
